The Cardiology Fellowship Program is committed to providing a broad based and diverse training experience in the specialty of Cardiovascular Diseases. The program is structured to ensure that fellows acquire the consulting expertise and the technical skills required of a Cardiologist. The primary focus of the Cardiology Fellowship program is to provide an experience which builds competency and expands understanding of the cardiac patient. We believe the best way to fulfill this goal is through a combination of self-study, didactic instruction, and supervised exposure to cardiac pathology. Research skills and the ability to properly review the medical literature are also emphasized.
Our Cardiology Fellowship Program is a three-year (36 month) osteopathic post-graduate program. The program is an AOA-approved fellowship with both DO and MD faculty physicians and is based at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (GSRMC), the largest tertiary care hospital within Samaritan Health Services. The Cardiology department at GSRMC includes eight practicing physicians and numerous mid-levels who provide cardiac care to the entire Samaritan service area.
