2010-11 Salary Information
Paid every two weeks (26 pay periods per year)
  • PGY 1 — $43,700
  • PGY 2 — $45,500
  • PGY 3 — $47,900
  • PGY 4 — $50,300
  • PGY 5 — $52,300
  • PGY 6 — $54,500
Health Insurance

As employees of SHS, residents are eligible to participate in the benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability). Leave Time
Residents receive 20 days of paid leave each academic year. Leave time can be taken in increments of 1 to 5 days. No more than
5 days can be taken from a rotation. It is highly recommended that 5 days be set aside for CME activities and specialty college meetings.
 
License
The Office of Medical Education will reimburse residents for the cost of a limited license obtained from the Oregon Medical Board of Examiners.
 
Malpractice Insurance

SHS provides, at no cost to the residents, the required professional liability insurance while participating in the Program.  The professional liability insurance provided does not cover activities outside the Program, i.e. moonlighting.

 

CME Allowance

Each resident recieves $1000 per academic year for continuing medical education purposes. This includes but is not limited to books, subscriptions, learning modules, applications, Up to Date and Epocrates.

 

COMLEX III

The Office of Medical Education will cover the cost of the COMLEX III exam on one occassion. If a resident is required to take the exam again, they will be responsible for the cost of the exam.

 

AOA & Specialty College Membership

Residents are required to remain active members of the American Osteopathic Association and their specialty college.  Costs associated with membership dues will be paid by the Office of Medical Education.

 
Additional Benefits
Each resident will be provided with two lab coats and an alpha numeric pager.
